What this site stores in your browser

This site stores as little as it can. Three items are stored because the site cannot do what you
asked of it otherwise, and one is stored only if you agree to it.

Stored because the site needs them (no agreement required)

Language preference
  What: which of the two languages you chose.
  Why: so that returning to sparkroute.eu takes you to the language you read last.
  Kept: until you clear your browser storage. Set only once you choose a language.

Your analytics choice
  What: whether you accepted or declined analytics.
  Why: so that we do not ask you again on every page, and so that a refusal is honoured.
  Kept: 12 months.

Voting marker
  What: an opaque random value, holding nothing about you.
  Why: so that a roadmap entry you have already voted for is not counted twice. It is one of
  several measures that keep the counts meaningful, not the only one — section 5 of our privacy
  policy describes the others.
  Kept: in your browser, until you clear its storage. Written only at the moment you vote, and
  never before.

These three are strictly necessary within the meaning of Section 25(2) of the German TDDDG, so we do
not ask your agreement for them. None identifies you, and none is shared with anyone.

Stored only if you agree

PostHog analytics
  What: PostHog sets identifiers to recognise a returning visit.
  Why: so we can see which pages are read and whether links are followed.
  Kept: a maximum of 12 months.
  Processor: PostHog Inc., on servers in the European Union.

Nothing is requested from PostHog before you accept. If you decline, no analytics identifier is set
and no request is made — the script is not loaded at all rather than loaded and silenced.

Changing your mind

You can accept or decline at any time from this page. Declining removes the analytics identifiers
and stops any further collection. Every page, the roadmap, voting and the contact form work exactly
the same either way.

What this site does not use

No advertising. No cross-site tracking. No device fingerprinting. No social media plugins. No
content delivery network that would see your address. The only third party involved is PostHog, and
only after you agree.
